Fedora Core (known as a "Red Hat" version) is a very well established Linux distribution.
This Parallels Image of Fedora Core 5 is all up-to-date as of 9/7/06. Many "good" packages are installed and configured. All hardware works with the iSite exception.
Fedora is a much larger Linux distribution almost an "OSX replacement". I'm sure you will find that using Fedora is just as easy as using OSX.
This image is tuned and patched for the Macbook (although these images are being used on other Intel Macs). You must have Parallels to use this image! As always with my images - 1280x800, tuned and updated. Just download the folder (then I would burn to a DVD) - unzip and run Fedora C5. Nothing to configure. If it gets "messed up" - just trash it and unzip off the DVD again. Fresh and new.

Thats right!
BackTrack is THE hackers linux distribution. This is a "tuned and modified" version for the Macbook.
What is BackTrack?
Combining the best features from both distributions, and paying special
attention to small details, this is probably the best version of either
distributions to ever come out.
I added many "end-user" applications. I have also tuned this for
speed for use on the Macbook with Parallels. Screen is - again @ 1280x800.
You must have Parallels to run this!

If you cannot get this through bittorrent, I will send an uncompressed DVD for $7.00 via Paypal. Please order here.

Power of the Rat!
Xubuntu is much faster than Ubuntu due to the Xfce interface (vs Gnome as in Ubuntu). This is tweaked and tuned for the Macbook. All updates, drivers and patches are complete as of 9.1.06. Screen rez is proper @ 1280x800 for the beautiful Apple.
Get this if you always wanted to try an Xfce Linux distro, but may have been intimidated by the interface.
The way I customized it was the way Xfce was intended - not the way the guys over at Ubuntu wanted it to be. Xfce is probably my favorite X environment.
I did install pretty much all applications "most" people will want. In fact, unless you have very specific needs, there is no need for more software that is already currently installed.
The nfo file will tell you more about my distro. Basically this is for the Macbook users that want to try linux but don't want to mess around with installing software, doing updates, config'n etc. I cannot test this on any other PC/MAC - so if it's not a /macbook\ then I have no idea.
You must have Parallels to run this!
Here is a screenshot of the desktop.
Very clean, very fast.
Here is the torrent file!
Get it while it's hot.
Just download and unzip - then boot.
Digg it.
Wow, last weeks Ubuntu version is very popular!
This is Ubuntu 6.0.6.1!
I decided to create a Parallels image file of Ubuntu (once I had it all "perfect") for other Macbook users.
This image is about 3.38GB's in size (although the torrent file is only 1.44BG). This is all up-to-date as of 8/30/06. Meaning, all patches are complete. I did install many programs such as iPodder (juice), Skype, Thunderbird, Azureus, Nmap, Nvu, FireFTP, Audacity, GAIM, etc etc. Pretty much all programs "most" people want.
Also, I have made the desktop an easy place for people new to linux to feel comfortable.
This is only for Macbook users. Desktop has been configured for 1280x800 - this is tuned for the Macbook. There may be some legalities due to codecs and such I really don't know. ;)
Here is a screenshot of the desktop.
"If you have a MacBook and Parallels and you want to try out Ubuntu - This is what you want!"
Here is the torrent file to download it.
Since I am the only seed right now, it may take a while. But I will add a 2 new seeds by tomorrow.
