OSX Applications that are NEEDED.
Ok, so I'm not a programmer. I don't write code and stay up all night. So do I really have bisnach rights when it comes to "obvious apps needed for OSX"? Well, I'm not going to bisnach. Let's just state the obvious.
FileZilla. : All other FTP clients basically suck for OSX. FileZilla source code is available for free. Until some nice person/people make it available for OSX, the only real alternative is FireFTP - the Firefox extension.
uTorrent : It's the fastest and cleanest BT client out there. Sure there is Azureus or Transmission (both which are free) but that cannot compare to the ease of use and speed of utorrent.
TurboLister : (for the wife) It's the way people use eBay. OSX users now have an app called "Garage Sale" (I believe), and that may be good - but you have to buy it.. eBay needs to port TurboLister for all users - not just Microsoft junkies. There is a petition going around to have them do it too.
TrueCrypt : Ok, TrueCrypt just needs to be "OS independant" first of all. I should be able to encrypt then decrypt on another OS. But yes, an OSX version - let's get moving.
Again, I thank all the hard work that went into making these app's in the first place. However, most of us are crying for ports. Before anybody makes yet another crappy FTP client - please, just practice with porting first.
Before we have some contest on who can make a cool app for OSX - we should have the ground covered first instead of getting another WeatherBug. ;)
But maybe it's just me.
